In overtime Denial, led by Shahzeb "ShahZaM" Khan, were able to quickly take down Jordan "n0thing" Gilbert's Cloud9 with a 4-1 score, thus giving them a 1-0 lead in the series.

Damian "daps" Steele and company ran up a 15-12 lead in the second half, but seang@res's heroics in a one-on-two allowed C9 to get within one round, before Denial knocked them out. ESEA Invite Season 17 Global FinalsBest of 3 Cloud9

Meanwhile Titan, playing with coach Jeremy "ioRek" Vuillermet as a stand-in, took on iBUYPOWER. Kenny "kennyS" Schrub strong play powered the French on de_cache, and they won 16-11.
Titan's map of choice, de_season, backfired and allowed Braxton "swag" Pierce's iBUYPOWER to tie the series at one, as the North American side cruised to a 16-10 win.
